USE CASE
Use Case: Quantifying Strategic Pathways with P_success
OVERVIEW
A mid-stage data & analytics company engaged InfraplanX to compare four strategic pathways:
Pathway 1: Independent Scale-Up
Raise a significant growth round and pursue a 5-year plan to materially increase enterprise value.
Pathway 2A: Partnership with the Market Leader
Become the data and insight layer for the leading digital platform, enhancing its core user experience.
Pathway 2B: Partnership with a Fast-Growing Challenger
Integrate with a rapidly growing rival platform backed by a global technology group with substantial investment capacity.
Pathway 2C: Integration with a Global Data-Infrastructure Provider
Examine our data refinery services that use cutting-edge techniques to transform raw data into structured insights, empowering clients with actionable intelligence.
WHAT WE DID
We built a quantitative P_success model that combined:
-
Product fit, delivery capability, investor interest, feature richness, growth headroom, accessibility and available budget.
-
Sensitivity to demand shifts, innovation pressure, competitive response, data-quality risk, and macro / regulatory exposure, consistent with best practice in probabilistic decision modelling.
THE RESULTS
Each pathway received a P_success score, interpreted as an indicative probability of success.
The analysis showed that all three strategic options materially outperformed the independent path, with the challenger-platform partnership offering the highest likelihood of success and the market-leader partnership becoming a close second once product teams engaged and regulatory risks were actively managed.
The client now uses this P_success framework to structure board discussions, investor communication and negotiations with potential partners—quantifying not just how big each path could be, but how likely it is to succeed.
